Smith Mountain Lake, VA (April 9, 2007)  – Christopher Finley, Director of Marketing for The Willard Companies, has earned the Certified Career Development Specialist (CCDS) designation by Prudential Real Estate Affiliates, Inc., a Prudential Financial, Inc. [NYSE:PRU] company.

Finley earned the CCDS designation by successfully completing Prudential Real Estate’s Instructor Training Program, which focuses on advanced training skills by auditing and presenting courses in a curriculum. As a CCDS, Finley is now certified to teach Prudential Real Estate’s accredited residential real estate training courses to sales professionals in the Prudential Real Estate Network.

With over a decade of experience in various marketing and communications roles including advertising, pubic relations, and promotions, Finley oversees all marketing programs, public relations and customer communications for The Willard Companies and its subsidiaries. Finley is an active member of Public Relations Society of America and has served in a number of different capacities for the local Blue Ridge Chapter. He is on the board of directors and is a Past President. Finley is also a member of the Roanoke Valley Advertising Federation, graduated from the Leadership Franklin County program, and is a part-time adjunct instructor at Radford University in the Communications department. Finley has been featured in the “Top 20 Under 40,” a profile of Southwest Virginia’s top 20 emerging leaders under the age of 40, prepared by the Blue Ridge Business Journal and was nominated for “Advertising Person of the Year” by the Advertising Federation. Finley holds a M.S. degree in Corporate and Professional Communications from Radford University and a B.A. in English with a concentration in Communications from Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk, North Carolina. Finley and his wife, Kristen, reside in Salem, Virginia and have two children, Tyler and John-Ryan.

According to the e-Pro website (www.epronar.com), “The e-PRO Certification Course is an educational program unlike any other professional certification or designation course available, comprehensive and interactive. It is sponsored by the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION of REALTORS® and is specifically designed to help real estate professionals thrive in the competitive world of online real estate.” The program establishes the fundamentals of online competence, and is geared towards teaching about Internet business principles including options and requirements to get connected, e-mail communication and marketing practices, online marketing strategies and practices, and creating and maintaining personal technology plan of action.

Roberts has extensive years of professional sales experience. Prior to joining Prudential Waterfront Properties, Roberts worked for Eli Lilly and Company for 32 years, working his way from field sales with territories in New York and North Carolina, up to national sales manager covering the lower 48 states. The upward mobility necessitated numerous moves that brought the Roberts family to High Point, North Carolina, not once but twice. Because of the moves, Pete gained an appreciation for the real estate profession, and has had a North Carolina Brokers License for 18 years.

Upon completion of his tour with the Army, Pete enrolled at the State University of New York at Buffalo, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy. He later began work on his Masters of Business Administration at the Rochester Institute of Technology, graduating with an MBA concentrating in Marketing and Finance. Roberts is a member of the Roanoke Valley Association of Realtors, Virginia Association of Realtors and National Association Realtors.

Roberts resides in The Water’s Edge Country Club community in Penhook with his wife of 37 years, Donna. They have three grown sons and three grandchildren.
